Funko Has The Power Of Greyskull!

Funko revealed images of its upcoming Masters of the Universe Pop Vinyl Figures. The line will include 3.75” versions of He-Man, She-Ra, Skeletor, Hordak, and Spikor and will cost $12-13. That Skeletor looks like such a little menace. There’s no release date yet, but given that 2013 is going to play host to a bunch of He-Man related toys, it’s safe to say they’ll be released at least sometime next year.

Thanos Confirmed For “Guardians…” & “Avengers 2”

populationgo:

A website by the name of Cosmic Book News has confirmed that the Marvel Comics villain, who made the briefest of appearances midway through The Avengers credits, will be a major player in both 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy & 2015’s Avengers 2.

While no details have been confirmed yet, I would wager to say that would make The Infinity Gauntlet the new MacGuffin for this series, taking the place of the Cosmic Cube in the first round of Marvel films. If nothing else, at least it confirms that Marvel’s got their act together years in advance in regards to their films.

Phoenix Wright Returns In “Ace Attorney 5”

Famtisu magazine confirmed that Phoenix Wright will return as the main character for Ace Attorney 5.

Being the first Nintendo 3DS game in the franchise, Wright and company will be in 3D along with the backdrops. For example, the player can freely change the camera angle to see the setting in 3D.

Story-wise, the game takes place a year after Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban 4 ). Wright originally lost his law license eight years ago due to a conspiracy but is now back as a lawyer. There’s a mysterious girl in yellow who is accompanying him and Wright faces off against Fumitake Auchi, a veteran prosecutor and the younger brother of Takefumi Auchi (Winston Payne). Also, one of Wright’s clients is Shinobu Morisumi, a frail high school girl prone to spasm attacks.

There’s no release date yet, but Capcom will have a demo of the game the Tokyo Game Show, which starts September 20.

Iron Man Bag
For some reason, I could actually see this as a product from Stark Enterprises, right after Tony unveils himself as Iron Man to the public. While we don’t actually have Stark Enterprises, we do have the creative mind of TheGoddess908 who created the purse. In addition to being able to carry all the essentials, the item has a Arc Reactor that lights up thanks to EL Wire technology. It was also entirely hand-sewn.

“Thor: The Dark World” Finds Its Villain In Christopher Eccleston

populationgo:

Despite rumours that the villains of Thor: The Dark World would be Amora the Enchantress and Skurge the Executioner, it seems that we’ve got someone a little different, as it has been reported that Christopher Eccleston has been cast as Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, presumably the Dark World of the title. Mads Mikkelsen had been previously linked with the role, but was forced to back out due to scheduling clashes.

Eccelston, famous in geek circles for his roles in Doctor Who and Heroes, is evidently no stranger to comic book characters.

Svetlana Khodchenkova Now Set To Play Viper In “The Wolverine”?

populationgo:

[via

The latest casting rumours circulating the web suggest that Svetlana Khodchenkova is now set to take up the role of Viper in James Mangold’s The Wolverine. This news comes just a day after it was revealed that after offering the part to Jessica Biel, Fox were forced to look elsewhere after negotiations broke down.

Khodchenkova would be a good fit for the role, with Viper’s origins being in Eastern Europe, and would seemingly fit well into The Wolverine’s more ‘authentic’ feel, after the key Japanese roles were handed to Japanese actors

Khodchenkova is most known to Western audiences for her role the spy thriller, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, with most of her previous works being done in Russia.

You may have heard the recent news of Jessica Biel being offered the role of Viper in The Wolverine. Well, apologies for being the one to break the news, but according to Collider, talks between Biel and 20th Century Fox have broken down, with the studio now talking to other actresses regarding the role.

With filming for The Wolverine planned to begin next month in Australia, you should expect a lot more casting news over the forthcoming weeks.

The Wolverine hits theaters July 26, 2013.

Capcom To Resurrect “Darkstalkers?”

populationgo:

[via]

During the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono told fans that if they wanted to see more of Darkstalkers, then they would have to wave their cash in the air for Ono to take pictures and show Capcom.

It appears that fans can now put their money back in their wallets and purses. Ono said that there’s no need for them to wave their cash around at this year’s Comic-Con, making some wonder if that means Darkstalkers is rising again.

Capcom already filed to renew the Darkstalkers trademark in the European Union earlier this year. I wonder if this means a new game in the franchise, or another HD port like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure? There were talks of Darkstalkers 3 hitting PSN earlier this year.
